Every week I create and share a picture of a dog, mostly my dogs, with a tongue out. Every week I write a weekly roundup on this website but on the Dutch part- and I often forget to write an English translation. I’ll try and get that habit active as my New Years resolution 🙂 – and start practicing today.

While I’m warm inside, typing these words, it looks like the world is on a break. There is no wind playing with the bare branches, no living soul outdoor, no cars passing by. The snow reduced the landscape to (almost) a black-and-white world. It is cloudy and without a watch, it is hardly impossible to know what time it is. Without a watch, I often have no idea whether I am eating lunch or dinner.

The dark days do not sabotage the daily walks – I only take fewer photos ?
But when the sun came out last weekend, all other plans were put to the side for our sunbath. Packed like Mr. Michelin with hats, scarves and warm socks because it was suddenly -12!

For Santa Lucia, we got together with some friends to bake Lussekatter. To celebrate our first year in Sweden, we made an extra-special type of Lussekatter that should be the perfect marriage between Sweden and Belgium: Lussekatter with pieces of chocolate in! Yum!

Another delicious Swedish thing for cold winter days and to celebrate International Migrants day: glögg. The one in the picture below is with apple, but most of the times I see/drink it with pieces of almond and raisins. It’s like a super sweet warm glow on the coldest days of the year.  And it tastes the best when you’re with friends 🙂
