It’s Tuesday again. Silly faces Tuesday. The day you can let your tongue hang unapologetic. And potvolkoffie, it is also the last one of this year. The next #tongueouttuesday will walk through the door together with a fresh new year … And yes, I’m just going to continue this series. The 3rd year in a row – I think – of weekly TOT photos. A serious archive by now!

The past week started with a busy to-do-list of all the things that had to be completed before the holidays. Writing and sending holiday cards (yup, late again), finishing a few assignments, updating schedules and more of those things that you do not want to have stuck in your head when you sit at the Christmas table with friends.

This year we not only celebrated Christmas Eve but also Christmas Adam. Christmas Eve, we celebrated with friends, so the night before we had a cozy Christmas-inspired evening with the dogs with snacks, popcorn, and Home Alone films ? – and after 20 years I’m still laughing. So silly so great.

Did you make some gifts for your dogs? Here they love to unpack and shred the paper, so I wrapped their presents too 🙂
For Ravasz, Santa provided mostly snacks of course and a new soft bed. Oona and Mo each got a new toy, a collar, and a leash.

With a few days of ‘warmer’ weather, the real question was: To white Christmas or not to white Christmas! But we were lucky as the snow managed to resist both rain and warmth. Today, however, it looked more like a winter wonderland with a fresh load of snow, but underneath there lies a treacherous layer of slippery ice! Ravasz went flat on his belly just after walking outside, Oona moved sideways and I did a few penguin dances but kept standing- barely. Mo has magical paws: she tramps around without the slightest slip.

Ravasz is also happy to come along as long as he can wear his sweater or coat! Because he’s getting a bit older, I’m always very worried about him, but then he passes me by, runs up the hill and even runs to us for a cookie.. In the spring he became slower and he seemed tired faster (also normal at 12+), but maybe he is like me: a bit tame with warm weather but completely awake in cold weather. Of course, we are considerate about the walks we make with Ravasz. Often we choose routes that are not that long and where Oona and Mogwai can play and run, but he can still happily manage a walk of an hour. If I want to explore a new path or wander around for a few hours, only Mogwai and Oona will go along.

Made a new paracord collar for Mogwai:

These photos are shot around 2 o’clock in the afternoon so what you see in the background is the sunset. On a clear day it is dark around 3 o’clock, but when the sun doesn’t show up, it can feel like evening at 2 a.m. or 2 a.m. On Instagram I regularly post movies in the stories, on one video someone commented: beautiful sunrise! While it was actually becoming dark again ?
Yet the darkest days are over! Hurray!!! Soon we will notice that the days are getting longer + probably also colder. Last year in January the coldest day was -25°C.

Since it’s super slippery the past few days, I’m extremely grateful for having these monsters under my car! — too bad there are still some roads that I should avoid until spring.

And this was the path across our house this afternoon. Fresh snow, a neighbor who wished us “God Jul!” and happy doggies who ran through the trees like madmen and roared wildly as if they were going to eat each other (Oona discovered her play-growl last week). I can’t wish for anything else. But the cherry on the cake was without any doubt the vegan chocolate mousse and fresh pumpkin soup that Joeri made ?

After a few wonderful days of celebration, friendship, and good food, the countdown begins. If you don’t stop by until next week, I wish you already a fantastic festive end of a hopefully fantastic 2017 and we will meet again in 2018.

See you next year!
